Anne Hathaway, 2009
Once again, Anne Hathaway chose a gown that illumined her creamy skin. The Rachel Getting Married actress gave the gown a personal touch by affixing an onyx and black crystal brooch to the back of the dress.

The glittery Armani Privé gown was styled by Rachel Zoe, and has since been labeled as one of Hathaway's "greatest hits." (Zoe was the actress's stylist for 10 years, with their relationship spanning from 2004 to 2014.)

The strapless number came off of the designer's spring 2009 runway show, which was inspired by "Shanghai in the thirties," a city known as "Paris of the East." Upon seeing the show, Voguedeclared that the collection was "anything but clearly directed toward the imminent Academy Awards." The publication continued, "In any case, this collection really fell into two parts: the pagoda tailoring and the power play for the Hollywood red carpet. The latter was more effective, especially the shimmering paillette hourglass sheaths and the plethora of strapless gowns." Hathaway took the bait, and dominated the top of every Best Dressed List.

She also wore a glittery blue Armani Privé dress to the Golden Globes that same year, proving the designer was one of her trusted go-tos.
