Zoe Saldana, 2010
Zoe Saldana looked like a modern princess as she arrived in the over-the-top, multicolored Givenchy couture gown—one that most fashion fans were hoping to see on this red carpet. It takes a certain kind of woman to command a dress like this, and no one could have done it justice quite like Zoe.

While the rest of the starlets milled around on the red carpet wearing black and white dresses, the Avatar actress decided to go with something a little more whimsical. The frothy gown came straight from from Riccardo Tisci's spring 2010 Paris runway presentation in January, so she wore it right off of the catwalk. The entire collection was inspired by Parisian women from the 1970s. "I started looking into the archive, and found the idea of this strong, erotic phase of Parisian women I related to," the designer told Vogue. The entire line consisted of ostrich feather hems, Chantilly layers, and spiral-cut designs of organza. (When you look at the bottom of Saldana's dress, the ruffles do have a slight can-can dancer aesthetic.)

The specific dress that Zoe wore was dubbed the “Natalia” gown, since model Natalia Vodianova wore it down the runway as the final look of the couture show.
