5. Her Off-The-Shoulder Dress
Kate has also chosen to show off her shoulders during multiple events. She has worn the bardot neckline across a variety of occasions, both casual and formal. While it's understood that royals dress more casually for smaller events like visiting charities or building openings, Middleton has been known to bare a shoulder for more formal occasions as well.

For example, in 2017 the duchess wore an off the shoulder dress to the BAFTA awards, donning an Alexander McQueen number that was covered in gothic blooms. Then in 2019, she recycled that same dress to wear to the National Portrait Gallery, but replaced the gown with more demure cap sleeves.

Middleton has also bared a shoulder while in the presence of the queen, proving that she's not worried about being issued a warning. In the outfit pictured, the duchess is wearing a red off the shoulder dress while attending the queen's birthday in Berlin. The romantic dress was designed by Alexander McQueen, and she wore it to the queen's birthday party at the British Ambassadorial Residence.

While the outfit choice might have been on the daring side at first glance, the red dress actually fit the aesthetic of the event. If you look at photos taken that day, the celebration was a garden party with other women wearing short and simple summer dresses. Middleton's dress was perfectly appropriate.
