15. Her Dark Nail Poilsh
Back in 2012, the Duchess of Cambridge arrived for a dinner hosted by The Thirty Club at Claridges, sporting a dark pedicure.

While Queen Elizabeth has been wearing the same pale pink nail color since 1989, and other royal women following suit with neutral shades for their manicures, Kate has been known to favor a dark nail polish every so often. For 30 years Queen Elizabeth has been reaching for the light pink shade called “Ballet Slippers” by Essie, which sells for a budget $9. Only natural-looking nails are permitted at official royal events, mainly because it looks more dignified to wear natural makeup. If a royal steps out with a trendy color — whether it's neon yellow or dark blue — it could look dated in a few short years.

That being said, the women of the royal family can wear different nail colors during their time off. They are only required to go natural during official royal engagements, which is why you sometimes see duchesses like Kate wearing dark polish.
