While it's true that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle lead rather unattainable lives, there is one particular thing people can relate to: their fashionable outfits. The royals have such a powerful influence when it comes to their ensembles that most of the items they wear sell out instantly. Which is why it isn't surprising that the phenomenon has been dubbed "The Kate Effect" and "The Meghan Effect."

And if the products they're wearing don't sell out in seconds, then you can bet they'll be off the shelves within hours or a few days. There have even been multiple reports of designers' sites crashing due to a high demand of customers attempting to purchase an item worn by the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge. Now that's what you call a trendsetter.

As members of the British royal family, it also makes sense that the Duchesses support a number of English designers by wearing their brands for public outings. Kate, of course, is a champion for Jenny Packham and has been seen multiple times donning the label. While Meghan has been using her profile to wear a mix of British looks and sustainable designers. Markle has already made a positive impact by wearing ethical brands like Reformation and Outland Denim, driving an increase in sales and putting eco-conscious fashion on the map.
