Vintage Collectible Cognac Alligator Clutch
For most of his lifetime, Salvatore Ferragamo was known primarily for his custom made luxury shoes. However, Ferragamo extended into the larger fashion world, incorporating handbags and clothing in the 1950'. Upon his death in 1960, the Ferragamo name was well known for producing a variety of high-fashion items. In the nearly half decade since Salvatore Ferragamo's death, the company he founded has continued to produce high quality luxury items in his tradition. This is the Salvatore Ferragamo Vintage Cognac Alligator Clutch. Made from resplendent cognac colored Alligator skin, this bag redefines vintage. Alligator scales are unique to each animal and the natural patchwork is a testament to the inimitability and authenticity of the clutch. The clasp is made of two golden high heel shoe miniatures and links the two upright sides together at the apex of the bag. The miniatures unclasp to reveal an interior bathed in soft brown leather. There are two pockets on the interior, each on a separate side of the bag. One pocket is a slide pocket, the other pocket is a zipper pocket. Above the slide pocket is a leather tag stamped with the Salvatore Ferragamo official logo and namesake and number of the bag. This clutch comes with a golden metal chain of tiny interlocking rings that serves as a shoulder strap. This strap originates and concludes on an internal clasp which allows the chain to easily be tucked into the clutch. This bag can be worn over the shoulder or on the arm or carried by hand. This clutch comes with a dustbag. This clutch is in very good condition. The interior and the hardware are with significant flaws. There is slight scuffing on the corners and on the exterior surface.
