Whether she goes <a href="/Celebrity+Hair+Cuts+and+Color+Changes+of+2015/articles/Mc4alMvwrm7/Kim+Kardashian+Platinum+Perfection" target="_blank">platinum blonde</a>, nude on a magazine cover or crops baby North out of an Instagram selfie, the web goes nuts over anything she does. She made headlines after&nbsp;an episode of<em> Kourtney and Kim Take Miami</em> in 2013, when the reality star voluntarily had her face poked with multiple small needles filled with her own blood.</p> <p>The procedure, dubbed a "vampire facial," uses platelet-rich plasma to stimulate collagen and elastin growth. It's supposed to result in fuller-looking, glowing skin, promote scar healing, fill wrinkles and banish blemishes. Naturally, I jumped at&nbsp;the opportunity to try Kardashian's facial myself with Dr. Ellen Lebow as part of <a href="/Health+Diet+Fitness/articles/Ud9U9BSqEF-/Take+Wellness+Retreat" target="_blank">Turnberry Isle Miami's Optimal Wellness Program</a>.</p> <p>There are a couple of ways to do this process&mdash;Kardashian used a variation of the <a href="" target="_blank">Dermapen</a>, an instrument with multiple needles activated at once. My facial involved multiple syringes and individual injections. On the day of the procedure, I had about 30ccs of blood drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets. Before each injection, calcium gluconate was added to activate growth factors in the platelets to stimulate regeneration in trouble areas. This sounds simple enough until you get to the psychological freakout that happens right before going in.&nbsp;I didn't watch the video of Kardashian getting her vampire facial&mdash;that was a smart move. She's wincing, crying and&nbsp;covered in dripping blood. See&nbsp;what had people talking:</p> <div class="dynamic-widget" data-url="/widgets/video_widget/VDkd5Ddeh6m" data-style="width:605px;height:341px;float:none;" style="width: 605px; height: 341px; float: none;" data-widget-guid="VDkd5Ddeh6m" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/video_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="video_widget"></div> <p>Dr. Lebow insisted that this was all sensationalized for TV, naturally, and&nbsp;because I didn't see the clip I had no clue what to expect. I'm going to be honest here&mdash;it definitely hurt. The needles went just under the surface of skin on my chin, cheeks, temples and just a bit on my forehead. The aching started immediately but wasn't unbearable. I'd say&nbsp;the radiating pain felt like a bad toothache or pulsating migraine wherever I was injected. I took a few breaks during the hour-long process to press my face with a cold cloth (some clinics do the process in half an hour, but I actually preferred having time to breathe).&nbsp;</p> <p>After the injections, a dermaroller&mdash;a tiny instrument equipped with microneedles that feel like rough exfoliation on the skin&mdash;was rolled over my face to kickstart the wound-healing process and stimulate collagen production. Lastly, the remainder of the plasma was brushed on to my face like a serum. It dried clear and made my face feel taut. Because it's recommended to sleep with it overnight, I actually ended up wearing it through dinner that evening.&nbsp; There was not nearly as much blood spill as appeared on TV and I only had slight redness and swelling. I went without makeup for a day to recover and was back to normal, no lingering pain,&nbsp;in two days.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="G1Ebo8j1uMk" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="G1Ebo8j1uMk"><img src="" title="Turnberry Isle Vampire Facial" alt="During and immediately after the Vampire Facial&mdash;see, no blood!" /></div> <div class="below">During and immediately after the Vampire Facial&mdash;see, no blood!</div> </div> </div> <p>My goal in testing this facial out was to treat acne and acne scarring I've had over the years. Results are supposed to start showing in three weeks and fully after three months. I found that it didn't help much at all for my breakouts (although that could very well be attributed to diet and hormone fluctuations).</p> <p>After three weeks, however, I am happy to notice plumper skin and faded scars. It's not dramatically different&mdash;typically, patients are advised to come back for multiple treatments for the full effect&mdash;but I do notice a more even skin tone. Of course, it's not for everyone (pain aside, the facial's price is typically $1,000 to $2,000), but after having done it once, I am impressed&mdash;and have quite the conversation starter.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="JNtgeqQ9778" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="JNtgeqQ9778"><img src="" title="Vampire Facial Before After" alt="Before and After three weeks post-facial." /></div> <div class="below">Before and After three weeks post-facial.</div> </div> </div> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="jLefSnuoJUQ" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="jLefSnuoJUQ"><img src="" title="Vampire Facial Before After" alt="Before and after three weeks post-facial" /></div> <div class="below">Before and after three weeks post-facial</div> </div> </div> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="mWAHdPrbdpB" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="mWAHdPrbdpB"><img src="" title="Vampire Facial Before After" alt="Before and after three weeks post-facial" /></div> <div class="below">Before and after three weeks post-facial</div> </div> </div> <p></p> Mon, 30 Mar 2015 13:47:52 -0700 http://www.stylebistro.com J3E7QtrOFGB Editor's Pick: Fake a Full Night's Sleep With This Eyeliner <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="lh-Ig8p2xHD" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="lh-Ig8p2xHD"><img src="" title="ready to wear new york awake eyeliner" alt="Editor's Pick: Fake a Well-Rested Night With This Eyeliner" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: HSN)</div> </div> </div> <p>Concealing a late night&nbsp;just got a bit easier. This year, they have even expanded the initiative&nbsp;throughout the country, stopping in five states.&nbsp;Today, the tour makes its way to&nbsp;Denver, Colorado, but we caught up with <em>SYTTD: Atlanta</em> star Monte Durham <a href="">earlier this month in New York City</a>&nbsp;to see how he applies his bridal style tips to young girls.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>How does the prom experience compare to planning a wedding?</strong> &ldquo; It&rsquo;s very similar because on the show we have 1,000 dresses to choose from and here we have 3,000, so it&rsquo;s the same principle: being taken into a room&nbsp;and allowed to pick any dress you want and not having to worry about it. And you have choices; it&rsquo;s not just one dress or a hand-me-down. These dresses are new, so it&rsquo;s incredible. In the beginning, the girls are very shy and quiet about their decisions, so it takes a little prodding from us to say, &lsquo;Come on, step out of here. It&rsquo;s prom! Let&rsquo;s have some color, let&rsquo;s get some energy, let&rsquo;s add some life to these dresses.&rsquo; And that&rsquo;s exactly what they do."</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="LwFJPMX0gii" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="LwFJPMX0gii"><img src="" title="Monte Durham at Say Yes to Prom in NYC" alt="Monte Durham Helps High Schoolers 'Say Yes to the (Prom) Dress'" /></div> <div class="below attribution">Source: TLC</div> </div> </div> <p><strong>And how about their 'say yes' moments? Do you think they get the same&nbsp;feeling that&nbsp;brides have on the show?</strong> "Like any woman, there&rsquo;s a struggle between this dress or that dress. [When] we had girls with a tie, they&rsquo;d come to me and ask. I&rsquo;d go, &lsquo;Which one makes you feel like a party girl? Which makes you feel like a princess? And they hold up one and say, &lsquo;Well, I feel like a real princess in this dress.&rsquo; Decision made."</p> <p><strong>What are your prom beauty tips?</strong> "Really, you don&rsquo;t need to do a lot of makeup. Young girls are beautiful. All they need to do is maybe highlight the eyes a little bit: a little bit of mascara, heavy eyeliner, light shadow, a beautiful lip and then trust me, you&rsquo;ll be prom perfection."</p> <div class="widget left pull-quote-big-icon w30 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="UPCS5z-ZR2E" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/pull_quote_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="pull_quote_widget"> <p class="text primary">Pay attention to yourself, stay true to yourself, look in that mirror and remember, &lsquo; We&rsquo;re going to look back at this dress later on.&rsquo;"</p> <p class="author primary">&ndash;Monte Durham</p> </div> <p><strong>Brides-to-be tend to have more of an established style identity. What confidence tips can you offer young girls who are still determining their own?</strong> "This is where we&rsquo;re going to make the mistake if we make them, right? The trick is make sure you don&rsquo;t have to tug at your dress; make sure that you have proper undergarments with it&mdash;you can have them sewn into the gown if you need support. The other thing is don&rsquo;t ever try to be anything you&rsquo;re not. Stay in your zone. Step out maybe with color or print, but don&rsquo;t wear a mermaid if that&rsquo;s not your style and you&rsquo;re [just] trying to be in fashion. Pay attention to yourself, stay true to yourself, look in that mirror and remember, &lsquo; We&rsquo;re going to look back at this dress later on.&rsquo;"</p> <p></p> <p><em>For more of Durham's big day style advice, tune in to </em>Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta<em> Friday nights at 10pm EDT on TLC.&nbsp;</em></p> Mon, 30 Mar 2015 13:15:32 -0700 http://www.stylebistro.com N_EBLETSH-v Health Foods 101: Matcha <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="Jrc6JOs5sY-" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="Jrc6JOs5sY-"><img src="" title="Matcha " alt="Health Foods 101: Matcha" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: Panatea)</div> </div> </div> <p>Everyone wants to eat healthy, but not everyone knows where to start. Whether you're trying to lose a few pounds or looking for an extra energy boost, food is the foundation for positive results. To help you navigate the grocery aisles, we're bringing you&nbsp;<a href="/Health+Diet+Fitness/articles/f5Z-5HfCcIg/Health+Foods+101+Millet" target="_blank">Health Foods 101 </a>to&nbsp;break down popular ingredients, <a href="/Health+Diet+Fitness/articles/GacH030dUAT/Health+Foods+101+Icelandic+Yogurt" target="_blank">why they're good for you </a>and <a href="/Health+Diet+Fitness/articles/klQXFA6C_OT/Health+Foods+101+Paprika" target="_blank">how to eat them</a>&nbsp;with the help of experts.&nbsp;</p> <p>Up this week: matcha, according to <a href="" target="_blank">Panatea </a>founders&nbsp;David Mandelbaum and Jessica Lloyd, who have traveled all over Japan to find premium matcha and work with a tea master.&nbsp;<br /><strong><br />What it is:<br /></strong>Matcha is a green tea powder from Japan. "We refer to it as the 'espresso of green tea'&nbsp;because you consume the tea in a concentrated form," say Mandelbaum and Lloyd.&nbsp; It is traditionally prepared using only three ounces of hot&mdash;not boiling&mdash;water per one gram of matcha and mixed with a bamboo whisk.&nbsp;According to the pair, what makes matcha different from tea is that it's made from shade-grown tea leaves and ground into powder form so you are actually consuming the full tea leaf's benefits, not just what is left over from steeping tea.</p> <p><strong>Its nutritional value:<br /></strong>Mandelbaum and Lloyd explain that matcha offers 34 milligrams of caffeine&mdash;about half an espresso shot and a third of a cup of coffee. "As compared to coffee, consuming matcha results in no jitters and no crash," they add. "When matcha is digested, the caffeine molecules bind to more stable larger molecules, like catechins. This binding slows the breakdown of caffeine in the bloodstream and therefore counteracts the usual negative side effects of caffeine."</p> <p><strong>Health benefits it yields:</strong><br />Matcha has more than&nbsp;14 times the antioxidant activity of wild blueberries per gram. That along with amino acids in the tea supports metabolism and weight loss; promotes energy and alertness; and fights free radicals responsible for aging, tissue damage and inflammatory disease. Matcha is also a natural detoxifier that regenerates and cleanses the body thanks to chlorophyll, which promotes oxygen flow in the blood, and fiber, which helps digestion and controls appetite.&nbsp;</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain left w30" data-widget-guid="WKLKUkyxujK" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="WKLKUkyxujK"><img src="" title="Panatea Matcha set" alt="Panatea 2.0 Ceremonial Grade Matcha Set, $67, at&nbsp;" /></div> <div class="below"><strong>Panatea</strong> 2.0 Ceremonial Grade Matcha Set, $67, at&nbsp;<a href="" target="_blank"></a></div> </div> </div> <p><strong>How you consume it:</strong><br />Aside from drinking matcha, you can get really creative.&nbsp;Mix it into lattes, smoothies, baked goods, oatmeal, yogurt and even salad dressings.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>How much you should have:</strong><br />Mandelbaum and Lloyd suggest drinking matcha twice a day (one scoop per serving equals 1/2 a teaspoon).&nbsp;</p> <hr /> <p><strong>Recipe to try:&nbsp;Matcha&nbsp;Mochi Waffles<br /></strong>Now that you understand the tea's benefits, get creative with this tasty remix of a breakfast treat.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="ficgzuHPe-D" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="ficgzuHPe-D"><img src="" title="Matcha Waffles" alt="Health Foods 101: Matcha" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: Panatea)</div> </div> </div> <p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p> <p>1 tablespoon of Panatea's ceremonial grade matcha<br />3/4 cup of flour<br />1/2 cup of mochiko<br />2 tablespoon of sugar<br />1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder<br />1/2 teaspoon of baking soda<br />1/4 teaspoon of salt<br />1 egg<br />1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract<br />3 tablespoons of melted butter<br />3/4&ndash;1 cup of buttermilk<br /><br /><strong>Directions</strong></p> <p>1. You can imagine, then, how nervous I was to know I'd be visiting not one but an entire team of doctors and health experts on a trip to experience the newly launched&nbsp;<a href="" target="_blank">Turnberry Isle Miami Optimal Wellness Program</a>. The plan: get a sampling of its four customizable packages tackling weight management, heart health, stress management, plus psychological, fitness and nutrition consultations. The result: a changed diet, glowing skin, a crazy tale&nbsp;to tell about getting my face injected with my own blood&nbsp;(story on that later), an abandonment of exercise for vanity&nbsp;and a newfound confidence in my future 50-year-old-self's health. Whew. Did I mention this took place over just four days?&nbsp;</p> <p>Turnberry Isle, a luxe resort in Aventura, Florida, has everything you need for an&nbsp;escape: picture-perfect pools, world class golfing, unbelievable dining and, of course, ideal&nbsp;weather. The cherry on top is the wellness program, which was introduced by Dr. Ellen Lebow and Dr. Michael Brawn. The duo brought on a team of seven on-site physicians and experts&nbsp;to develop integrative programs targeting every major&nbsp;health concern.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="NNHoKFDAIKz" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="NNHoKFDAIKz"><img src="" title="Turnberry Isle Miami" alt="Why You Should Take a Wellness Retreat" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: Turnberry Isle Miami)</div> </div> </div> <p>Wellness retreats have been steadily gaining popularity among health-minded folks looking for an alternative way to vacation.&nbsp; From <a href="" target="_blank">Canyon Ranch</a>&nbsp;in Arizona to <a href="" target="_blank">Maya Tulum</a>&nbsp;in Mexico, resorts are catching on to the demand for restorative, experiential packages. Turnberry Isle is unique in its marriage of scientific, medical&nbsp;resources with big-picture mental and physical wellness. You're not just doing yoga multiple times a day and having healthy meals provided (although you very well can at the resort), but rather running lab tests to dig deeper into your health history as well as opening your mind to alternative practices. You get clinical expertise with a spa environment.</p> <p>What's most impressive is&nbsp;how highly&nbsp;individualized the Optimal Wellness Program is&mdash;there's no same itinerary for two people. "Everyone here is committed to customization," says Dr. Lebow. "Customization is what preventative medicine is about." It's rare that you'd ever get more than half an hour meeting during a doctor's visit, but these physicians were extremely personable,&nbsp;friendly and&mdash;even now a few weeks after visiting&mdash;available to talk more if ever I have questions.</p> <p>You can pick from four main programs that range from four to eight-day stays starting at $6,500 (full resort amenities included): Weight Management, Bio-Identical Hormone Restoration, Stress Management and the Heart Health Executive Plan. Throughout my stay, I tried&nbsp;parts of all four and had takeaways that revealed the benefits of not&nbsp;just&nbsp;Turnberry Isle's program, but any wellness retreat. It's something everyone should try at least once.&nbsp;</p> <div class="widget left pull-quote-big-icon w60" data-widget-guid="sYtrRneq_4a" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/pull_quote_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="pull_quote_widget"> <p class="text primary">There's a nonchalance toward health you get away with in your early 20s. This led me to trying procedures I had never even heard of before: a detoxifying lymphatic drainage therapy, a neurobiofeedback session for training the brain to&nbsp;optimize electrical activity, an IV cocktail session inserting powerful antioxidants and electrical acupuncture. If ever I was confused about anything, the experts all enthusiastically explained processes in an easy-to-understand manner.&nbsp;</p> <h3 class="article_heading maple"><strong>Get unmatched attention from&nbsp;physicians&nbsp;</strong></h3> <p>The most educational experiences for me, by far, were my hour-long talk with the nutritionist Staci Shacter and separate consultations with both Dr. Lebow and Dr. Braun. Referring to my blood samples, each doctor went through my reports line by line, noting any outstanding issues (for example, I am seriously deficient in Vitamin D, which doesn't come as a surprise&mdash;hello, holed-up New York City indoor lifestyle!). Unlike previous experiences I've had with doctors, they&nbsp;didn't just immediately tell me I need to take such and such medicine, instead opting for a holistic approach including talks about nutrition and exercise.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain right w30 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="tlnm1mAR6gG" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="tlnm1mAR6gG"><img src="" title="Turnberry Isle Vampire Facial" alt="Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy aka Vampire Facial." /></div> <div class="below">Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy aka Vampire Facial. <div class="below attribution">(Source: Kristina Rodulfo)</div> </div> </div> </div> <h3 class="article_heading maple"><strong>Gain tools to ensure your future health</strong></h3> <p>"You're 22 years old, what am I going to do with you?" Dr. Ellen Lebow admitted these were her thoughts when she first saw my patient intake form. This sentiment was echoed by all seven experts I consulted during my stay. It's understandable since there's a nonchalance toward health you get away with in your early 20s. You can engage in&nbsp;bad habits and still look like you're in tip-top shape. Little did I know I'd discover things about my body that could turn very&nbsp;ugly down the line.&nbsp; As Dr. Braun discussed with me, healthcare in the US generally focuses on treating diseases as they're already diagnosed. As someone young going through all of these health treatments, the biggest takeaway I had was to have a focus on preventative measures. I shifted my mindset to think about&nbsp;what I can&nbsp;do now to make sure I won't be needing high-stakes treatments when I'm older.</p> <p>I definitely came away with a new perspective on my future given the tools and data I gained at Turnberry. The most notable change? I exercise at least five times a week now, which isn't different from what I did before, but my approach has changed&mdash;instead of focusing on looking like a fitness model, I have made it a goal to gain control of my heart health and body composition (body fat percentage, especially). That alone has become a much more powerful motivator than a six-pack ever was.</p> <h3 class="article_heading maple"><strong>Revamp not only your body, but also your mind</strong></h3> <p>During a wellness retreat, you typically have time to really slow down and relax in a calm environment. Such was the case during the Optimal Wellness Program, since I could take advantage of spa treatments like massages and facials. Apart from those rejuvenating beauty treats, however,&nbsp;I had access to a behavioral coach, Joan E. Childs, who addressed broader topics such as stress and guided me through meditation. It's a practice I've since learned the importance of and actively try to implement every&nbsp;day&mdash;not enough people prioritize it!</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="pobZylpXRpI" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="pobZylpXRpI"><img src="" title="Turnberry Isle Miami Spa" alt="Why You Should Take a Wellness Retreat" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: Turnberry Isle Miami)</div> </div> </div> <h3 class="article_heading maple">place yourself in an empowering environment</h3> <p>Along with science-backed feedback from doctors, this wellness retreat provided&nbsp;help in the food and fitness departments, too. I&nbsp;worked with a personal trainer who helped me navigate weight machines, addressed my long-unanswered&nbsp;questions about exercises and provided a new routine I could take home. There were also organic, healthy&nbsp;meals at the ready and educated providers there to chat about everything from why taking a wheatgrass shot does the&nbsp;body good to what to expect when attempting a detox diet. At Turnberry, the experts practiced what they preached. Everyone ate clean, whole food diets, toted water bottles around all day and carried an air of positivity. In our attempts at encouraging spring to hurry up and get here, this past weekend we hit up <a href="">Haven Spa</a>&nbsp;in New York to try its&nbsp;new Flower Shower Body Scrub treatment. We couldn't get enough of the rose-scented scrub so we had to ask co-founder Gabrielle Ophals to create a DIY version so everyone can try at home. Get the details below.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Ingredients:</strong></span></p> <p>One half cup salt or sugar<br />Favorite oil such as almond, jojoba or avocado<br />Two drops of your favorite essential oil such as lavender, rose, rose geranium, linden or petitfleur<br />Two to three teaspoons crushed dried flowers</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Directions:</strong></span></p> <p>Mix together one half cup of salt or sugar with just enough oil to moisten the salt/sugar. (Regarding oils, try almond, jojoba or avocado&mdash;Ophals doesn't recommend olive because "you'll smell like a salad!") Into this mixture, put a few drops of your favorite floral essential oils. (Tip from Ophals: less is more when it comes to essential oils.) You can also add a few teaspoons of crushed dried flowers for added scent and texture. Mix it all together and give yourself a good scrub while standing in the shower. Ophals recommends spending extra time&mdash;a good ten to 15 minutes&mdash;on rough areas like elbows and heels. Rinse off the scrub and gently blot your skin dry with a soft towel. Follow with your favorite moisturizer, preferably unscented or with a scent that's complementary to the scrub.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Benefits:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span>Not only will this scrub reveal fresh smooth skin, it also locks in moisture thanks to the oils. Almond, jojoba and avocado are all rich in vitamins and hydrating&nbsp;for the skin, while essential oils invigorate the senses.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="N8Pa8onoQ3i" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="N8Pa8onoQ3i"><img src="" title="Haven Spa" alt="DIY floral body scrub" /></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: Haven Spa)</div> </div> </div> Thu, 26 Mar 2015 14:25:21 -0700 http://www.stylebistro.com 1YoTusVYsoW Editor's Pick: PilyQ Swimwear <div class="widget imagewidgetmain center w60" data-widget-guid="Ia_o48gxmSU" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="Ia_o48gxmSU"><a href=""> <img src="" title="pilyq swim" alt="Editor's Pick: PilyQ Swimwear" /> </a></div> <div class="below attribution">(Source: PilyQ)</div> </div> </div> <p>Shopping for swimwear it not generally a fun endeavor. Finding the right fit, pattern and coverage is a time-sucking task and locating&nbsp;a coverup to coordinate...let's just say I'd rather spend my day on an actual beach. For those of you who feel the same way, might I suggest swimwear line <a href="" target="_blank">PilyQ</a>.</p> <p>Created by designer Pily&nbsp;Queipo and creative director Amber Delecce, this line includes bikinis, one-pieces, coverups and kaftans that flatter in an array gorgeous prints and fabrics.</p> <p>My love affair with the brand began with the <a href="">Zen Braided Bikini </a>(top, $36; bottom, $34). Not only does this suit boast a chic, on-trend palm print, but also, it has hidden underwire to offer support without looking as though you're wearing a bra to the beach. The fit is flattering and comfortable and the braided straps on both the top and bottom make it an eye-catching suit.&nbsp; The brand also offers other standout designs including a chic, feminine laser-cut scalloped bikini&nbsp;and sporty halter top suit.</p> <div class="widget imagewidgetmain w60 mceNonEditable" data-widget-guid="CWJDGzWvM5x" data-widget-edit-url="/widgets/image_widget" data-widget-modal="true" data-widget-type="image_widget"> <div> <div class="image-and-info-box" data-guid="CWJDGzWvM5x"><img src="" title="pilyq swimwear" alt="PilyQ&nbsp;Palms Braided Zen Bikini Top, $36 and bottom, $34;&nbsp;Oro Reversible Reversible Bikini, Top, $84,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Bikini Bottom, $84;&nbsp;Keshi Pearl Gypsy Halter Bikini Top, $&nbsp;and&nbsp;Bottom, $64 all available at Bloomingdales" /></div> <div class="below"><strong>PilyQ</strong>&nbsp;Palms Braided Zen <a href="">Bikini Top</a>, $36 and <a href="">bottom</a>, $34;&nbsp;Oro Reversible Reversible Bikini,<a href=""> Top,</a> $84,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Bikini <a href="">Bottom</a>, $84;&nbsp;Keshi Pearl Gypsy Halter Bikini <a href="">Top</a>, $&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="">Bottom</a>, $64 all available at Bloomingdales <div class="below attribution">(Source:</div> </div> </div> </div> <p>If PilyQ's fab swimwear isn't enough to tempt you, take a look at the brand's fun, flirty cover up options.
