Russell Brand at the Beverly Center
Russell Brand hosts a "Buy Love Here" swap-meet-type event at the Beverly Center where guests can bring used goods and trade them for anything from clothing to electronics. Brand created the event as a "social experiment" that will create a sense of community and reveal what people are willing to trade and what they find most valuable, as part of his documentary called "Happiness." Celebrity donations from the likes of Katy Perry, James Franco, P Diddy, and Adrien Grenier were all placed in the pop-up shop for attendees to see. At one point, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton arrived, carrying a pillow to trade in with his initial "P." Later, a girl with a diamond ring came in to try and trade it for a dress donated by Katy Perry. Brand challenged her on the spot to see if it was a real diamond and, along with his camera crew, went to a diamond store within the Beverly Center to see if it truly was real.
