Coalition Leaders Meet in Berlin
German Chancellor and Chairwoman of the German Christian Democrats (CDU) Angela Merkel and Chairman of the Bavarian Christian Democrats (CSU) Horst Seehofer meet in Merkel's office prior to the arrival of Chairman of the German Social Democrats (SPD) Sigmar Gabriel at the Chancellery to discuss the Edathy affair on February 18, 2014 in Berlin, Germany. The leaders represent the three parties that form the current German coalition government and are seeking to deal with the consequences of investigations into possible child pornography possession by SPD former Bundestag member Sebastian Edathy. The affair has already cost former Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich (CSU) his cabinet post after he admitted leaking information about an investigation to Gabriel last October, and the CSU is demanding the resignation of SPD Bundestag faction head Thomas Oppermann because he told the media about Friedrich's leak.
