Chancellor Merkel Starts Two Day Visit To Canada
In this photo provided by the German Government Press Office (BPA), Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper shows German Chancellor Angela Merkel around his summer residence at Lake Harrington on August 15, 2012 in Gatineau Park, near Ottawa, Canada. Chancellor Merkel is in Canada for a two day visit, which is seen as an opportunity for the two nations to combine discussions on global political and economic issues, not least the German desire to seek Canadian financial support to a Eurozone bailout fund. While she is expected to remain disappointed in this regard, she has been joined by leaders from within German industry as part of a mini-trade mission who will meet Canadian counterparts to explore joint business opportunities.
