What to Wear: Spring Jacket Edition

(Source: Free People, Sheinside)There’s little more sartorially satisfying than banishing all of your dark winter outerwear to the back of your closet at the sight of spring’s first blooms. But for anyone not lucky enough to live in subtropical climes, spring still requires a light topper, and one never seems to be enough. As such, we've tracked down three versatile staple silhouttes—the military jacket, blazer, and silk bomber—that you can easily alternate ‘til tank-top weather.

Military Jacket
The army jacket has rightly earned its stripes as a go-to garment. In a neutral tone such as stone, it can break up a head-to-toe denim look or add edge to a printed maxi.

The LBB (little black blazer) is equally as versatile, but this season, we’re tempted to leave it on the hanger in favor of a more colorful version. Cut in a tailored shape and paired with boyfriend jeans, white cigarette pants or even—gasp!—workday basics, a vibrant blazer adds instant sophistication to any outfit.

On flirtier days when a skirt is in order, a silk bomber is key. The short jacket, which should hit between your waist and hip, adds a nice balance to pencil, circle, or skater skirts.
