What To Wear: On a Job Interview

If a new job was part of this year’s agenda, we hope you’ve snagged an interview by now. Although we can’t coach you on practice questions, we can help you make a sharp sartorial impression. Like an attention-grabbing resume, an ideal interview ensemble (depending on the industry, it might even be equally scrutinized!) is about structure, confidence and impact. Case in point? Virginie Ledoyen’s sophisticated tweed skirt and ruffled top combo.

The French actress showed off the look at a Chanel show last year, but we think it’s perfectly professional: While the below-the-knee skirt commands attention, the soft, sleeveless top projects understated assurance—all while guaranteeing your outfit won’t overshadow your qualifications.

Replicate her look by pairing Tory Burch’s take on a fitted tweed pencil skirt with a sleeveless Calvin Klein blouse, and finish off the look with a polished, pointed-toe pump.
