Trend to Try: Extreme Bell-Bottoms

(Source: Gonzalo/Bauer Griffin, ImaxTree, FameFlynet Pictures) Whether spotted on trendsetting celebs such as Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Rachel Zoe, or on stylish attendees at London Fashion Week, bell-bottom denim definitely brings to mind the "what's old is new" adage. Certainly, as we reported when we first noticed this trend, this retro silhouette resonates with '70s street style, and nostalgic memories of feathered hair, shiny lipgloss, and tie-dyed love-ins.

But in 2014, the bell-bottom pant leg is anything but used up. In fact, bell-bottoms are back––and they're bigger than ever. We might even call this new variation extreme bell-bottoms.

Love it or loathe it, the look is both trendy and flattering. No wonder we've been seeing this new, wider-bottomed leg on styles of denim ranging from distressed to dark. See how the bell-bottom elongates the leg by extending the line below the high-heeled shoe and heel, all the way down to the floor? However, the bell might take some getting used to, especially for ladies accustomed to the skinnier, tapered, cigarette-leg cuts that have been all the rage in recent years.

Is this a trend you would try? Scroll down for more examples, and share your POV in our poll: What's your bottom line on extreme bell-bottoms?
