Milan Fashion Week Runway Trend: Opulent Furs

(Source: ImaxTree)If Milan’s designers have anything to say about it, come fall we’ll all be dressed in fur. Italy’s Fashion Week included at least a dozen shows featuring fur accents, in styles and colors as varied as the clothes themselves. To wit, the above strong looks from Angelo Marani, Blumarine, Versace and Fendi. Whatever your style, budget, or stance on faux versus real, there's inspiration to be found.

At Fendi and Fay, outfits were accented with fur—a luxe adornment that’s a lot less of an investment than an entire coat. Fendi's decorated dresses felt especially innovative.

At Alberta Ferretti (left), a tailored overcoat in olive benefited from the addition of a panel of midnight blue lambswool. Costume National opened its show with four ivory furs cut in shapes a bit looser than those from the ‘70s. It was a look so spot-on for the current season, you could imagine a showgoer in the same ensemble.
