Site Spotlight: Alekka

This is precisely how Alexandra Voyatzakis wanted to shake-up the market when she founded Alekka, an online trove of accessories from emerging designers and artisans.

The former fashion journalist’s wanderlust has led her to skeletal framed sunglasses by Australian label Ksubi ($224), knitted Stela 9 hobo bags imported from India ($108) and ceramic jewelry bowls hand-painted in Greece ($30). Stories and photos documenting Voyatzakis's trips are featured in the site’s Digital Diary, and include reflections on Rome and Punta Cana, among various other destinations.

Resin-and-copper robot pendants crafted in Miami ($80) and rhinestone-embellished necklaces from NYC jewel house Frieda and Nellie ($282) are worthwhile splurges, but try to leave a little something in your travel budget.
