Now that New York Fashion Week is officially upon us, we can’t help but wonder what shows they would be attending if their fictional personas were, in fact, real. After a few on-set visits through a number of covetable closets in Hollywood, we got some insight on five distinct divas, straight from the costume designers that put together their fantasy-filled ensembles. See what they had to say as well as which designers to keep an eye on to mirror your favorite leading lady’s style.

While she portrays a city girl who migrated to the country, Bilson's character Zoe is, according to the CW series' costume designer Cameron Dale, "a tried-and-true New Yorker" who will never lose her downtown, trendy style. At the top of Zoe's runway list this season: her long-time favorite Proenza Schouler, which she can be spotted in season after season; Alexander Wang "for his cute short-shorts and handbags;" Alice + Olivia "for all of the Bluebell parties and weddings she is always attending;" and Rodarte—"Zoe can't miss seeing what the Mulleavy sisters have dreamed up."

2. Jaime King on Hart of Dixie
Zoe's frenemy Lemon, on the other hand, has evolved from a traditional Southern Belle to an independent woman since the show's start, and that transition is reflected in her wardrobe. Dale believes King's character would fancy Tory Burch ("Since Lemon is an entrepreneur, she admires Tory's business savvy"); Monique Lhuillier because she "is the type of girl who is always planning her wedding, current beau or not, and also [selected the designer for] her disastrous wedding to George Tucker;" Honor, which she "would sleep in if she could; the pieces are so delicate and feminine, like our Lemon;" and Suno's "unique and fun prints for when she is feeling adventurous."

Like her taste in red wine and dark chocolate, Mindy Lahiri loves to indulge in her wardrobe, which is never lacking in bold saturated shades or dramatic designer duds. The show's costume designer Salvador Perez told us that if they weren't in the middle of filming, he and Kaling, who he notes is very hands-on in putting together her character's standout layered looks, would frequent the shows of Kate Spade, Tory Burch and Lela Rose in the name of Lahiri. "If you think about each of them, it's about color," explains Perez. "They use color so beautifully. It's a distinct design aesthetic that I relate to, how they're using color and prints, and it's their combinations that inspire me."

Jill Ohanneson, costume designer for the ABC drama, also notes that attending Fashion Week is a challenge with the show's shooting schedule, though VanCamp was invited to attend Pamella Roland this season based on a formal gown previously worn by her character. "We're really all over the place with her cocktail and evening dresses," she admits. "However, I can say the featured dresses from both last year's and this year's premiere are Carolina Herrera. That's been a great, really grand opening statement for her."

For her polished everyday ensembles, Emily Thorne would turn to all-American designers, such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger, for "that preppy, clean-lined look. We also put her in a lot of 3.1 Phillip Lim separates. Alice + Olivia and Vince are also really huge for her; although those aren't big couture shows, those kind of real clothes she likes."

5. Madeleine Stowe on Revenge
We've long envied Victoria Grayson's vast closet collection of high-end designers from all fashion capitals, from Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta in Milan to Azzedine Alaia in Paris. The Hamptons socialite's more local favorites include Michael Kors (just like her nemesis) and "if it were not for her sad passing, definitely L'Wren Scott," says Ohanneson. "It was such a perfect fit for her—a little bit fancified, and the details she would put in were really great for this kind of a character. We're sad that she's gone."
