StyleBistro Awards 2012: Cast Your Vote for the Accessories Designer of the Year
Welcome back to the StyleBistro Awards folks! Up next: Accessories Designer of the Year, a category really close to our hearts (yeah, so what if we have a shoe problem?). Check out our seven nominations, and vote below! Winners will be announced August 21st.
Proenza Schouler: Proenza Schouler's accessories are always such must-haves. This fall, the dynamic duo pulled out even more Proenza-perfect stops with richly-hued leathers like navy blue and an electric purples, a fierce peep-toe bootie that looks like it could have been made from racing car parts (we mean this in the best possible way), and an oblong fur bag. P.S. We love it all.
Celine: If you follow fashion insiders on Instagram or Twitter then you know that Celine has had a big year—and a cult-like following with cool girls everywhere (Chrissy Teigen even tweeted our fave tweet ever when her Celine got wet in the rain "CELINE, NOOOOOOOO."). With sleek structure, Celine continues to kill it for fall, with a mossy shearling luggage bag, tall leather boots, stately cuffs, and teeny emerald green clutch.
Brian Atwood: Brian Atwood makes some of our favorite, highest platform pumps out there, Brian Atwood is never afraid to push the envelope. His fall collection doesn't dissapoint. With wild animal prints, baroque detailing, and the sexiest lace-up thigh-high boots we've ever seen, you can't deny how daring Atwood is when it comes to his designs.
Prada: No, there aren't any lady-part shaped shoes this season, but there are beaded tassles, rubber-covered toes, and a 70s-looking floral print. Prada accessories are, season after season, a total must-have.
Balenciaga: Forever a trendsetter, Balenciaga has always played with proportion. This season the lust-worthy label gave us googly eyes (that's a compliment) with its electric colors and shapes. Whether it's the pink-heeled booties above, rounded kitten heel in an indeterminate red animal print, checked satchel, or the 80s style lightning bolt earrings, Balenciaga's accessories this year were killer.
Dannijo: Only founded four years ago, the costume jewlery label is loved by many celebrities and gets insane media exposure (half of which is thanks to Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller who constantly Instagrams the sisters' work). It's no secret why the pieces are so popular—bold, bright, and statement-making, the jewelery is everything any woman ever wants to spruce up a plain white tee.
Reed Krakoff: It was a no-brainer nominating Reed Krakoff for this award—he's won the Accessories Designer of the Year not once, but twice, from the CFDA. 2012 was no exception to the brilliance behind his work with fierce python and alligator gracing many of his glamorous goods.
Now to the difficult part—which collection do you covet the most? Vote below!
