StyleBistro Awards 2013: Which Product Had the Best Packaging This Year?

Let's be honest, sometimes it's not the formula that makes us fall hard for a product. We're suckers for packaging that makes us go "ooooh!" Which is why we're excited to introduce a new category to this year's StyleBistro Awards: Prettiest Product Packaging!

From the insanely innovative—like a mascara wand that looks like a paint brush!—to the wildly adorable—grafitti hearts, anyone?—these products were so stunning, we almost didn't want to use them. Almost. Get the scoop on our finalists, and vote for your favorite in our readers' choice poll, below.

Nars Andy Warhol Collection 'Flowers' Eyeshadow Palettes: Last November, our vanities transformed into a personal art gala, thanks to Nars's genius homage to Andy Warhol's most iconic images. While we wanted to blow our piggy bank on every. single. product. in the collection, it was the beautiful floral arrangement on these palettes we couldn't tear our eyes from. These pretties are truly works of art.

This collection was limited-edition for holiday 2012, but you can find similar vibrant shades in Nars New Wave palette ($55 at narscosmetics.com).




Lancome Show by Alber Elbaz Mascaras ($27 each at lancome-usa.com): We're not sure what's cuter, Alber Elbaz's darling hand-drawn sketches or the fact that the Lanvin Artistic Director referred to this tounge-in-cheek collab with Lancome as his "happy eyes project." (Happy eyes, you guys!) We get, though, it really is hard not to smile when you pull one of these tubes out from your makeup bag—especially when you see onlookers obsessing, too!




Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo Glow ($12.99 at target.com): Our favorite part about this glow-enhancing blush-bronzer combo? (Besides the incredible summery flush it gives our lackluster complexion?) Everything from the crocodile embossing to the sophisticated shimmer to the gorgeous rose gold packaging looks ultra-luxe and spendy—all for just a fraction of the price!





Avon Mega Effects Mascara ($10 at avon.com): If this paint-brush-bristle style "Wonderbrush"—which is ergonomically crafted to give even the eensiest lashes colossal volume and length—doesn't drop your jaw, the amount of time Avon's brainy developers spent making it will. You ready for this? This revolutionary design took six years and more than 5,000 hours to create. Well worth it if you ask us. The results are nothing short of amazing.



Urban Decay Smoked Eyeshadow Palette ($49 at sephora.com): I kid you not when I say the StyleBistro team sat and stared at piles of Urban Decay products trying to whittle down our favorite. We ended up settling on this winner, though, for it's sleek (and smart!) fashion-meets-function design. The cushy case and zip-up pouch prevent that dreaded powder-crumbling-in-your-purse problem, and the interior is all sorts of whimsical. We're also huge fans of UD's stay-put eyeliners, so that also helped seal the deal. Just sayin'.

Honey by Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum ($70 at marcjacobs.com): We didn't think a fragrance bottle could get any more delightful than Dot, then MJ went and released Honey—a brighter, (ahem) buzzier sister scent. The best part? Honey's warm, inviting potion smells as sugary-sweet as it looks.
