If, in the last four years, you ever stopped to wonder what ever happened to Ashley Dupre, the prostitute at the center of the 2008 scandal that brought down New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer, well, turns out she's back in her home state of New Jersey—and she's opened a lingerie and swimwear store!
"I grew up in the area and there really wasn't anywhere you could get a good bathing suit around here without driving to the Short Hills Mall," Dupre told NJ.com about her shop, Femme by Ashley, which is situated in Red Bank, a borough of Monmouth County. "And Red Bank is an amazing place. I lived in New York for seven year and I think Red Bank is like a little SoHo."
It seems like the ex-call-girl has found her retail niche, to be honest. In all seriousness—who else to better advise on the seductive merits of lingerie than an ex-prostitute?
"About 85 percent of women wear the wrong bra size. And shoppig for bras can be difficult and uncomfortable for a lot of people, ebcause we all have imperfections and we all have flaws," she said. "But this is a very relaxed atmosphere, where they can get new ideas."
