Versace's New Concept Store Opens in New York
(ImaxTree) Christopher Kane and Donatella Versace at the Versus spring 2013 show
What do you think of when you think of the Versace "concept"? Super-sexy, over-the-top, unabashed glamour and glitz?
Say hello to the new Versace store, the brand's first concept store on American soil—situated in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. The 1,785-square-foot space officially opens this Wednesday and will feature specially VIP-curated collections of limited-edition products. Versus creative head Christopher Kane is the first guest curator—and, according to a report in WWD, his selections for the retail location will include T-shirts printed with "archival Versace images," logo headphones, and a board game called "Medusa & Greca" (ooh, we love board games!).
"The brand has a rock soul," Donatella Versace told WWD. "The store is a small jewel and fits with this area and its young, bohemian mood. New York is the city I love the most in the world, where I had a home for 12 years, and where I count more friends than in Milan."
