Sensitive skin can be a downright pain to deal with—literally. While others pile on whatever creams they can get their hands on and switch moisturizers on a whim, gals with sensitive skin have to tiptoe gently around their faces. One wrong move and you wake up with a break out! When we chatted with StyleBistro guest editor Shaun Robinson, she shared her tips for keeping her sensitive skin under control.
One of her biggest tips is to make sure to cleanse and moisturize, no matter how tired you are at night. Shaun then recommends several products made for sensitive skin. She says:
Things that are very gentle like Cetaphil, and you can just buy that at the drug store. Aveda hydrating lotion is very good, it doesn't break me out because it's pretty light. I also like Beauty Control, it's available just through distributors and it's been around forever...I like their moisturizers, cleansing cream and toner. When I do get breakouts, I will use the Neutrogena acne wash, which you can also buy at the drugstore.
As a bonus, Shaun also let us in on her makeup secrets. Makeup can also wreak havoc on sensitive skin, but Shaun has her faves down pat. Bobbi Brown is her go-to for most things, but she notes that Makeup Forever has a great HD foundation. Shaun says the secret to a flawless face is to blend your makeup, something she learned from her makeup artists, Val and Alice. She says:
Alice likes lots of blush and lots of gloss. Val likes to focus on the eyes. Both of them always tell me to blend my makeup—blend it, blend it, blend it.
Shaun gave us some good tips! Do you have any sensitive skin or makeup secrets to share?
