Five Hot Spring Hair Colors to Try

(Sources: Getty Images)Looking to change up your strands this spring? Instead of doing the very Hollywood thing and getting a bob or pixie (so last year), why not switch up your look entirely with a fresh new color? From Molly Sims's soft new strawberry to Kate Mara's lemon blonde, we've got five of the hottest hair colors to try. Right. This. Second.

Red

Molly Sims kissed her beachy blonde locks goodbye and opted for a soft strawberry red hue instead. Although this might seem like a drastic change, the touch of red is actually not too far from Sims's former blonde color, thanks to a spattering of blonde highlights. Try this look if you're seeking a change that's different yet not too drastic.

Chocolate Brown

This velvety dark brown gave the actress a more seductive look almost instantly. Warmer undertones kept the color from looking too harsh on the fair-skinned beauty.

Lemon Blonde

But the star who first caught our eyes with a sun-kissed look was Kate Mara. The House of Cards star went from auburn to blonde overnight flawlessly. To make the transition smoother, Mara kept some darker "bronde" roots and lowlights throughout, saving only the blondest color for strands around the face.

Ombre

In case you're looking to re-create those perfectly highlighted strands but are nervous to bring a picture of Leto to the salon, we suggest using Olivia Wilde as your hair muse instead. The actress has been displaying impeccable ombre locks lately on a number of red carpets, and despite what anyone thinks, this two-toned look isn't going anywhere. Tip: Ombre tends to look best when curled or waved, so keep that in mind before taking the plunge!

Violet

Kelly Osbourne has rocked the hue for years, and now it would appear as if Nicole Richie has also made the violet plunge. And really what better time to go purple? Radiant Orchid is Pantone's color of the year, after all.
