Steal Her Weekend Look: Elizabeth Banks's Wild and Tame Style
Saturday night and Sunday brunch outfits inspired by the 'Walk of Shame' actress.
It's okay to let loose every now and then—unless, of course, you're a recognized television reporter who has to stay on top of her game to make news anchor. Still, the shenanigans involved with recovering from a wild night out promise good laughs in hindsight, as well as a plot worthy of a mother-daugther trip to the movies.
Elizabeth Banks portrays an aspiring journalist, Meghan Miles, in Walk of Shame, in theaters now. The daring yellow look she sports on the film's poster (and throughout most of the flick) is ideal for a night out on the town with your girlfriends. Meanwhile, the more modest ensemble she wore while promoting the film's premiere last month is perfect for Sunday with brunch with mom, especially considering Mother's Day is this weekend.
While we all dread finding ourselves in the same clothes from the night before, Banks's character remained cheerful (at least on the outside), thanks to her bold bandage dress by Yigal Azrouël. The garment is from the designer's Resort 2013 collection, rendering it no longer available (not to mention costly). Luckily, Guess by Marciano is known for its similarly sexy sheaths, including this look-a-like lemon-colored number with mesh cutout paneling ($119.99) that is currently on sale. Accent it with teal sandals ($89.95) and matching pearl drop earrings ($49.99) that mirror the leading lady's.
Prim and poised, Banks possessed a more ladylike look while out of character. Her pink and black Monique Lhuillier frock is from the designer's most recent Fall 2014 collection and boasts an attached patent-leather waist band. Find a honeycomb textured dress ($237) in navy and on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue, and achieve a comparable look by styling it with a solid black belt ($7.80). Finally, follow in the stylish star's shoes by matching with more black accessories, including a box clutch ($40) and pointed-toe pumps ($129.75).
