Red Carpet Trend: Emerald Green Gowns

(Courtesy: Jason Merritt/Getty Images North America; FameFlynet Pictures)While Pink's rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was a powerful tribute to The Wizard of Oz, these stars (by intention or accident) commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Emerald City themselves in their stunning green gowns.

Bold shades of the color in all styles graced the red carpet last night at the 2014 Academy Awards. Viola Davis (left) and Idina Menzel (right) both selected classic strapless silhouettes, with Davis in Escada and Menzel in Vera Wang. June Squibb (center left), who was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Nebraska, sparkled in Tadashi Shoji, while Access Hollywood's co-host Louise Roe (center right) went for a Grecian-inspired gown by bridal designer Pronovias.
