(pronounced "trouble" with a P), kicked off one of the most highly-anticipated shows of New York Fashion Week on Saturday with a heart-stopping lineup. The pressure was on for the young designer, whose Spring 2012 collection
was whole-heartedly embraced by critics and celebrity fans alike.
Gurung did not disappoint with his Fall 2012 line, presenting a tremendous range of clothes in his 42-piece collection. Sexy cutouts and bold prints à la Georgia O'Keefe dominated the runway, a sure-fire way to please high-profile fashionista clients like Sarah Jessica Parker
and Zoe Saldana
. The collection showed off the designer's propensity for precise tailoring, from the slick neoprene trousers to the impeccably-crafted red carpet gowns. A relative newcomer to the fashion industry, Gurung's line managed to show artistic growth while staying true to the fanciful aesthetic that won him such early notoriety.
