No doubt about it,
Oscar de la Renta knows glamour. The designer's Fall 2012 collection was unapologetically opulent with a plethora of luxe baubles—extravagant bijoux adorned headbands, belts, day dresses and even winter wear.
While fall collections have traditionally been full of deep shades and saturated colors, Oscar's lineup was a breath of fresh air, complete with pale pinks and baby blues. Even the showstopping evening wear was not immune to these delicate touches of spring, with tulle confections of frothy pink and lilac gray.
His Fashion Week collection showed Oscar moving toward a more youthful feel, with shorter hemlines and playful prints. Perhaps we can chalk his latest experiments up to
The Board, an online inspiration tool Oscar created to crowdsource from a presumably younger audience. We can't wait to see how his refined style is further interpreted by a new generation of fashionistas.
