When it comes to bold brows, there are ones that, although glorious, border on bushy—no offense Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins, we heart yours!—and then there are these, the holy-smokes-stunning arches at yesterday's Tadashi Shoji spring 2014 show. They're beautifully enhanced but in a way that's so much more wearable way than our aforementioned brow icons.
"The makeup is quite soft and ethereal, and the skin is super-natural and clean. No harsh eyeliner, no strong mascara, and soft at the brow," makeup artist Lisa Houghton for MAC Cosmetics told us backstage.
Her secret to creating bombshell brows that don't scream, um, BROWS? Swap your standard brow pencil out for an eye shadow that's one shade lighter than your hair color. "Eye shadow is softer than pencil," she said. "And I always, always recommend a clear brow gel."
As for technique? Watch how Houghton gently lifts the gel up and out as she applies it.
There you have it! The quick steps to bold (not bushy) brows. Will you try this method at home? What tricks do you use to play up your brows? Sound off in the comments!
