'90s in NYC: Timo Weiland Fall 2012

Timo Weiland poses backstage at his Fall 2012 show. (Getty)For their new fall collection, design team Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein looked to the youth culture in NYC for a sophisticated redux on '90s grunge.
Rather than offer up copious amounts of Kurt Cobain flannel, they updated era appropriate plaids and velvets with leather, fur and digital print florals to create wearable pieces with a modern edge. Seemingly undone hair (some of it pink) and smudgy slept in eyeliner gave the collection attitude, as did the show's thumping rock 'n roll soundtrack.
