Elle Fashion Next Spring 2013 Show Report: FIT Students Strut Their Stuff

Every year for the past three years, as part of its Fashion Next initiative, Elle magazine has teamed up with a different American fashion school to showcase the best of its graduating talent—and to award promising young designers thousands upon thousands of dollars for their talent and hard work. This season, Elle worked with New York-based powerhouse Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to showcase 18 students' work.

There were so many great ideas and so much talent in the room, but hands down, our favorite pieces came from designer Joshua Myrie—whose three looks opened the show:



Myrie's work looked futuristic and directional—modern with smart references to the 60s, as well as representing a clear understanding of construction and silhouette.
