Sick of reading runway reviews by professional fashion critics proclaiming so-and-so's latest collection "directional," or going on about insert-designer-name-here's "sartorial elegance"? Us too! Which is why we turned to people outside the industry to give us their takes on the Fall 2013 collections. Way outside the industry. Religious leaders!

First up is Rev. James Martin, S.J., a Jesuit priest, and the official "Colbert Report Chaplain." Like all fashion bloggers, he's on Twitter! (Sample Tweet: "Pope Benedict XVI is raising the bar when it come to giving things up for Lent." Pope zingers!)

Let's read what he has to say about men's sweatshirt dresses, high fashion prison jumpsuits, and "terrifying" sunglasses.

VPL: "What happened to the rest of her fur? It looks like PETA was only half successful."

Suno: "Very nice if you're a schoolmarm or an inmate. Or a schoolmarm in prison."

Moncler: "Hardly the most cheerful outfits I could imagine. They look like ants waiting at a green light. Or a phalanx of Soviet ecologists."

Ruffian: "The dress is pretty enough, even though the bow is outsized, but the hair and glasses are fairly terrifying. Maybe she doesn't want to see her hat."

Duckie Brown: "This is why you should never hang a cotton sweatshirt to dry. Plus, is he wearing pants under that? Pretty uncomfortable. It's an outfit that says 'I'm begging you to tease me about my clothes.'"
