(Lindsay Schallon/StyleBistro)They say three's a trend, and we've seen handfuls (heh!) of this look backstage during Fashion Week — can you guess?
Matte nails!
"It is definitely a trend,"
Deborah Lippmann told us at
Badgley Mischka, where she lacquered the models' tips with a rich ruby red matte color called Red Silk Boxers, which launches later this year. "We've done two collections that have a matte finish," she continued. "It's all about matte.
Put your sheer pinks away for the fall, just put them away. Don't throw them away, but put them in the back. It's going to be color, color, color."
Lippman also has a "punk rock" popcorn-ceiling-like textured matte polish coming out this summer, which she used at both
Zero + Maria Cornejo and
Lela Rose.

matte nails at ICB by Prabal Gurung:

tip of iceberg. There's still, at least, a full day of shows to come! Tell us, what are your thoughts on the matte nail trend? Us? We're obsessed! Weigh in with your thoughts in our poll, below.
