You know how our panel of nail experts predicted texture is going to be huge for 2013? Well, here's our first spotting of the trend at New York Fashion Week!
At the Whit fall 2013 presentation, celebrity manicurist Gina Edwards complemented the collection's rocker '70s vibe with black and gold, gem-embellished nails. "Whit's inspiration was Marianne Faithfull, an actress/singer back in the '60s, early '70s," said Edwards. "It's very girl next door but still has that rocker edge. So we wanted an edgier nail."

As for nail shape, she kept the models' tips short, round, and au naturale. "They're very classic, very chic," said Edwards. "Nothing, you know, too crazy because we wanted them to complement the era we're tying back to, the '60s and '70s."
Love the look? Well, guess what? They're nail decals! Kiss' "Teddy" Nail Dress decals, to be exact — and they're available in drugstores now for just $6.99 a pack. We especially love that the gems are barely raised, meaning they won't flake off or accidentally get caught on your sweater (not that we've had that happen before...) yet they still have the same high-shine effect!
