Molly Sims shows off her svelte figure in 'Shape.' (Shape)
Model Molly Sims is the first to admit that maintaining her lean figure takes a lot of hard work. In the latest issue of Shape, the 38-year-old shares her strategies for looking and feeling her best. The bad news? Sorry folks, but there is no miracle drug or fad diet here. Luckily, her techniques are easy enough to incorporate into even the most hectic daily routine. And what better time to start thinking healthy than in the midst of the holiday season?
Since dining out is especially hard to avoid during the holidays, Shape's cover girl has a quick trick for maintaining self control. Before you reach for that tempting basket of bread, order a salad! She says, "I don’t care if I’m being rude to the rest of the table. I just do it. Then I’m not tempted to reach for that bread.”
And: According to Molly, lack of time is not a valid excuse for missing a workout. Even if you only have 15 minutes to spare, use that time to your advantage by getting your heart rate up. “Whether it’s time on the treadmill or an upper-body routine, you just have to get that heart rate up and keep it there," she says.
Staying in shape isn't the blond beauty's only trick for looking her best. Like the rest of us, she has certain go-to pieces in her closet that make her feel extra fabulous. She says, "My staples are a beautiful pair of black pants, a lightweight coat, a great black heel, and a black cardigan. Everything else is just a topping on my fashion sundae!"
