We know being a model isn't always as glamorous as it's cracked up to be, but we never thought it was life-threatening! Top model Helena Christensen
has opened up about the crazy things she's experienced in her long career, including some where she's lucky to be alive today.
She recounts an incident to UK Vogue
where she was lucky to escape with her life. She says:
I was once stranded on a broken-down boat in shark-infested waters in the middle of the Indian Ocean for five days before we were rescued while doing a Vogue shoot...We ended up shooting the story on our way to the airport on the last day.
After that harrowing experience, we're surprised Helena continued on with the shoot, but apparently, the show must go on! Not even sharks could deter Helena from modeling and she's remained one of fashion's most recognizable faces. She says:
I honestly feel like my entire career is one long memorable moment. It has been such an intense, crazy, surreal journey and it still feels that way. As long as I'm inspired and feel challenged and as long as the people I work with feel the same way working with me, then I guess I'll stick around.
