(Danica Lo / StyleBistro) The front row directly across from me at Alexander Wang's fall show
Early last week, we spotted British model Liberty Ross in New York
. You may remember her not only from her spate of Vogue
covers ten-plus-ish years ago, but also from that whole Kristen Stewart
homewrecker scandal where the Snow White and the Huntsman
star had an affair with Rupert Sanders, who was, at the time, Ross' husband and father of her two children (he's still the father of their two children, that kind of stuff you can't annul/divorce/take back). Anyhoo, we speculated last week that maybe Ross was in New York to walk in the fall 2013 Alexander Wang
show—the two are buddies and she walked in his spring 2013 show, right after the Stewart-Sanders scandal broke.
At last night's Alexander Wang show, we didn't spot Ross on the runway—mostly because she was sitting in the front row instead—sandwiched right in between Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and supermodel Liya Kebede. Check out the front row lineup:
And a bonus shot of the front-rowers watching the show:
Here's what they saw—lots and lots of luxe knitted, furry, fleecy separates and outerwear. Think soft origami shapes and cozy warmth in silvery gray:(ImaxTree) Alexander Wang fall 2013

At the forefront of many editors' minds is how and whether this collection foreshadows Wang's first season at Balenciaga—his first show for the storied Paris fashion house is scheduled to bow during Paris Fashion Week in three weeks' time. Can the Paris crowd expect to see a continuation of the Alexander Wang fall 2013 story—with boxy, dropped shoulders, slim skirts, and an emphasis on texture and layered monochromatic head-to-toe looks? Or will Wang surprise us with brights and bold prints at Balenciaga? Time will tell.
Here's a video of the finale walk:
