Vogue Editor-in-Chief
Anna Wintour was named the artistic director of Conde Nast—a job she's taking on in addition to her current duties—and remember how no one really knew what her new gig meant for the other powerhouse editors at the storied publishing house? Like, will Wintour all of a sudden start bossing around
Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter or
Glamour's Cindi Leive?
Well, this week, Conde Nast's top brass convened for its first meeting with Creative Director Wintour—and it looks like we're not the only ones who are confused about her new purview.
According to a report in WWD, the editor-in-chiefs assembled in the CN auditorium and Wintour gave some "brief remarks" where "
she told editors she'd help them with their jobs, even if they had not particularly raised their hands for the assist."
One insider told
WWD: "She'll do what she always does, which is what she wants to do." And others noted that it would be unlike Wintour to take a position and not
do something with it. So, there you have it. Wintour will do
something, but no one knows what that is, really.
