Expert Tip: Lips That Last (Even in the Winter)

(Source Ben Gabbe/Getty Images North America)You might wonder how A-listers walk the red carpet, interview, smile, SMILE, smile, and avoid the usual cracks and the frothy white goo that appears over time on the corners of one's mouth (you know what we're talking about).  It's fair to say that if lips last through a night like that unscathed, they have a fighting chance at braving sub-optimal temperatures and accompanied dryness.  Obtaining a moisturized pout for cold weather dwellers is as easy as stealing a red carpet prep secret.

The Wall Group's Daniel Martin, creator of this makeup look for Ms. Bosworth, is no stranger to touching his fair share of beautiful faces. His trick to everlasting luscious lips isn't an arctic pipe dream. It only takes two steps to get lips in tip-moist-shape for a long night (or short winter days). "I had Kate scrub her lip with a makeup wipe first to remove any dead skin. Such an important step. I then applied lip balm to rehydrate the lip (Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm is by far my favorite)."

If applying a lipstick following, let the balm absorb for a few minutes. We've put this product to the test during a frigid morning commute, and it's indeed something special. Those other tubes, pots and tubs that have been weighing down your bag can hibernate rest of the winter if you follow this lasting lip regiment.
