Look of the Day: Carey Mulligan's Sweet Tulip Dress

Carey Mulligan isn't one to play it safe on the red carpet, and this is exactly why we adore her (that, and her bold pixie 'do). For the London Film Critics' Circle Awards, she chose to wear this red tulip print dress.

The playful motif would make you guess the piece came from Miu Miu's persistently whimsical collections or even Versace's statement intarsia designs from fall. Surprisingly, however, the flouncy number was by Roland Mouret. Looks like the king of sleek minimalism flirted with draped silhouettes and youthful fabrics for spring.

The lilac YSL shoes are admittedly a questionable choice, but when winter red carpets become a sea of LBDs, color is more than welcome.
