Style and 'Scandal'

Where does Kerry Washington find her style inspiration? Often it's from the characters she plays and the costume designers she works with. Her new series happens to be a goldmine of fashion creativity, influencing her sartorial choices off the set.

"I was really inspired by my wardrobe on Scandal. I just think Lyn Paolo, the wardrobe designer, did such a beautiful job. My character is a real Washington powerhouse but she also has kind of left the establishment of working in the White House to work on her own, so she doesn't play by normal conservative business attire rules."

It's important to note Lyn Paolo is the Emmy-winning costume designer for shows like ER, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and (for a throw-back) Step by Step, so it's fair to say Kerry is in very capable hands. The actress also told us there will be loads of designer goods to gush over from Calvin Klein to Stella McCartney and Chloe. Heck, a weekly dose of Ms. Washington looking fab is pretty much the only persuasion we need to tune in.
