Kate Middleton's now-iconic Alexander McQueen wedding dress is going to be put on display. The Palace is mum on the details and the British press is speculating it'll go to London's Kensington Palace, where many of Diana's dresses were kept. But rumor has it Anna Wintour has had the frock specially flown in from London for the Met's Costume Institute Gala honoring Alexander McQueen!
It seems like a tall tale, but Anna's power knows no bounds. No official details have been released, but the Palace says:
The Duchess of Cambridge is considering a number of options to give members of the public the opportunity to see close up the skilled British craftsmanship that went into the making of her wedding dress.
It'll be interesting to see the gown up close. Many deemed the gown to be beautiful, but simple, due to its understated design. However, fashion insiders know the truth about the intricate detailing an Alexander McQueen creation entails. The dress, which featured delicate lace and intricate embroidery along the hem and train, required hours upon hours of work by trained artisans. In order to keep the dress as white as possible, they were required to wash their hands every 30-minutes and change the needles every three hours.
What do you think, will Kate's dress make a surprise appearance at the Met Ball or will it be displayed later on in the year?
