Naturally curly or wavy tresses give this look it's romantic vibe. For straighter hair, a hot roller set or medium-barreled curling iron can be used to add a few spirals.
To begin, section out bangs and a few pieces around the face. Next, backcomb hair through the crown to create some height and draw tresses back loosely. Gather at the nape of the neck and twist without using too much tension. Then, inset u-shaped hair pins near the scalp to secure the style.
The idea is to keep the updo tousled-looking and imperfect. For bangs and the loose strands around the face, add some additional curl if needed, then sweep bangs to the side, tousle longer pieces and mist the completed look with hairspray.
