Hot or Not: Christina Ricci's Bountiful Met Gala Bow

Christina Ricci isn't worried about drowning in pink fabric. (PacificCoastNews)We're still struggling to process all the high fashion that was on display at Monday evening's Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There were sequined turbans, navel-high slits, dresses shockingly sheer. And then there was Christina Ricci's divisive Thakoon frock.

Ricci barely stands five feet tall, so her decision to attend the high fashion benefit in a gown with such an impressive wingspan was particularly fearless. The intricate black-and-pink number featured a textured black overlay, a sliver of exposed skin just beneath the bustline, and a bow that looks like it weighed about half a Christina Ricci.

Ricci looked very much aware of the dress' challenges: She posed with all her diminutive might, and kept the accessories to a minimum to allow the piece to speak for itself. But was it enough to make it work?
