Haute or Not: Pillbox Hats
Marc Jacobs (Imax Tree)Since the days of Jackie O and her fabulous '60s headwear, hats appear to be a lost art in the US. Unless you're Kate Middleton (or perhaps Anna dello Russo), there are too few opportunities these days to wear statement head pieces. Designers like Giorgio Armani and Marc Jacobs, however, are doing their part to change that.
While Jacobs was ahead of the game with his Fall 2011 polka-dot aquatics line, Mr. Armani reinforced the accessory with his velvet-clad Armani Privé Fall 2012 collection. So, what do you say: Are pillbox hats a thing of the past, or do you love the daringly elegant fashion movement? We can only assume the Duchess of Cambridge would be for the cause.
