January Jones Ate Her Placenta
(Getty Images) Wonder why January Jones looks so happy?
January Jones has always sort of struck us as a woman who isn't afraid to try anything—fashion or otherwise—and, in the latest issue of Glamour UK, she proves our hunch right by admitting to eating her own placenta. Yup—placenta, aka afterbirth: the organ that grows inside the womb, connecting the fetus to the mom's insides. It looks like (don't click if you're squeamish) this.
"I should never have told anyone about that," Jones says in the latest issue of Glamour. "But it's not gross or witchcrafty. Nor am I putting it in a shake or eating it raw. It's a very civilized thing that can help women with depression or fatigue. I was never depressed or sad or down after the baby the was born, so I'd highly suggest it to any pregnant woman."
Just to be clear, Jones didn't grill up her placenta and devour it with a knife and fork—she had it dehydrated and ground up to be consumed in pill form.
