This Simple Hair Trick Got Me 3 Compliments Today!

This morning, I woke up in a panic. Somehow, I managed to sleep through three alarms — how one doesn't wake up to a blaring Baby, Baby, Baby by Justin Bieber, I'll never understand — meaning I had just 15 minutes to choose an outfit, brush my teeth, make myself look, at the minimum, at least somewhat presentable, and run out the door.
So as I was frantically spritzing down my super-fine locks with a cloud of dry shampoo — really, is it not the worst when you have no time to shower? — I had a lightbulb moment.
See, last week, Chloe Grace Moretz attended the Movie 43 premiere with her bangs swooped back by three bobby pins.
And a few weeks before that, I obsessed over this colorful bobby pin combo Katharine McPhee sported at the NBCUniversal 2013 Winter TCA Tour.
So, knowing I would probably have a case of the McBangs by noon — yes, my bangs resemble a McDonald's stove top when they aren't washed — I decided to follow suit and secured my side-swept fringe with a trio of pins like so:
Not only did both my roommate and my boss tell me they loved the adorable adjustment, a stranger in the bathroom even stopped me to swoon over my hair! Swoon. Over my day-old hair.
So there you have it — three bobby pins saved me from a bad hair day. Whodathunk?
