Sick and tired of hearing about the VMAs yet? Nope? Great! Here's another story coming right at ya. (Don't worry, we won't mention Miley... er, other than that.)
While most celebs used the annual anything-goes awards show to unleash their wildest beauty fantasies, Selena Gomez stunned us all by doing the opposite. Going understated—in the best way possible.
Want to know how she got her hair so perfectly smooth and shiny? We tapped hairstylist Lona Vigi to get the scoop on the exact products she used to make Selena's mane so gosh-darn gorgeous. Read on!
Prep: Lona first mixed John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula ($9.99 at drugstores) with Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) into Selena's wet hair to ensure no frizz during the drying process.
Dry: For added hold up top, Lona flipped Selena's hair over to concentrate on blow-drying the roots. After that, she sectioned off pieces and dried using an Ibiza round brush. (That's the key for a bit body at the ends!)
Style: Once her hair was completely dry, Lona brushed a pinch of John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) into Selena's locks to amplify the shine.
Perfect: Last up? She locked everything in with a spritz of John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores). Really want to make the hold last? Lona recommends spraying some product on a clean mascara wand and gliding over the front sections around your face. That'll ensure you're flyaway free all night long! Even if, ahem, Miley's twerking makes your hair stand on end. (Sorry, had to.)
