(Photos: Getty, PacificCoastNews.com)Newsflash: You don't have to chop off all your hair to get the short and sweet look all of the celebs have been rocking on the red carpet. And yeah, everyone is rocking this look these days. From Kerry Washington to Taylor Swift, celebs are giving their 'dos a fresh new look with a pinned up romantic faux bob.
Get the scoop on how to score this red hot look for fall. Turns out this sexy 'do only requires a few products and five steps to complete!
Products suggestions (at every price point!) to get the look:
L'Oréal Professionel Volumetry Root Lift Spray ($25.50)
Redken Rootful 06 Root Lifting Spray ($16)
Pantene Root Lifter Spray Gel ($5.99)
L'Oréal Professionel Architexture ($24.50)
Tigi Bed Hed Hard To Get ($20.99)
Garnier Fructis Haircare Mess Maker Power Putty ($5.99)
First, apply a few spritzes of root lifting spray to damp hair and blow dry hair until it's 100% dry. Root spray is designed to create lasting volume and oomph, which is just what you need for this bouncy style.
Next, form a low ponytail and secure it about two inches from the end of the hair, pulling the hair only half way through on the last twist. Carefully roll the ponytail up to the nape of the neck and secure it horizontally with pins. At this point, your faux bob should start to take shape!
Use a small amount of a matte defining paste to give texture. Slightly deconstruct your 'do and pull out strands where desired for an extra piece-y look.
Curl remaining front pieces and set with clips to get that retro-inspired touch. Or leave strands straight for a more modern look. Finish with hair spray, and voila! You now have a faux bob to give even Emma Watson a run for her money!
