The Band Perry's Hairstylist Tells Us Exactly How to DIY the Look from 'Better Dig Two'
Love the edgy rock-inspired hairstyles in The Band Perry's "Better Dig Two" video—which just premiered on CMT last night? We're sort of obsessed with them—so we asked hairstylist Christopher Naselli, who created the The Band Perry's hairdos for the music video, exactly how (and exactly which products to use) to recreate Kimberly's look.
To get Kimberly Perry's updo, Naselli prepped her hair with Oribe's Foundation Mist and then applied the brand's Curly by Definition all the way from Kimberly's roots to her ends and diffused her hair with a hairdryer. This step helps maximize her naturally wavy texture.
Next, Naselli sectioned Kimberly's hair into 1-inch sections, sprayed each section down with Oribe's Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray and wrapped each piece around a 1-inch barrel curling iron, set it, and let it cool, leaving the front section out to keep her natural hair texture intact.
When the hair is completely cooled down, Naselli undid the setting and applied a quarter-sized amount of Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream to the curls. He pulled the back, side, and front up in a messy, loose updo, and secured it all with hairpins. To add support and hold, he sprayed the front with one of our favorite Oribe products of all time, the Dry Texturizing Spray. And he finished off the whole updo with a spritz of Superfine Hair Spray for hold.
