(Photos by ImaxTree)When we first arrived backstage at
Badgley Mischka's fall 2013 show, this is what we saw — a room full of models hunched over in chairs, heads between their knees. No really, look:
(Lindsay Schallon/StyleBistro)Afraid the entire modeling cast of
New York Fashion Week had suddenly been stricken by that flu thing going around — and terrified that one of those horrific
Drop Dead Gorgeous situations was about to unfold right before our eyes — we timidly tiptoed closer, then gasped: "Ooooh, braids!"
As you've now seen, to create the Hitchcock-inspired hair, hairstylist Peter Gray for
Moroccanoil literally tip the models forward to begin reverse French braiding from the nape up to the tip of the crown. Then, at the top of head, he created a disheveled coif — reminiscent of Kim Novak's haphazard locks in
The Birds — by treating hair with Moroccanoil's
Volumizing Mousse before running strands through a curling iron and back-combing them out.
While we can't say we'll be rocking the fluffy top of this 'do at home — it's just a little too...
much for everyday, right? — we're definitely delighted by the idea of switching up a classic bun by using Gray's braided back technique.
