Ashley Greene Goes Reddish for the Holidays

While some stars like the drama associated with drastic changes in color, others prefer to be a bit more subtle. Ashley Greene has slowly been changing the color of her hair from dark brown to a rich auburn.

If you've been thinking of switching up your look, but don't want to shock, here are a few color-altering tips:

  • Highlights and lowlights add depth and color to your hair without the commitment of dying your whole head. Avoid drastic shade differences and you'll be set!

  • Cellophane treatments add a hint of color to your locks, but wash out after a few weeks. They have the added benefit of shine and conditioning to boot.

  • Semi-permanent dye lets you change your hair color without the commitment. Feel like being a redhead for a few weeks only? This is for you!

  • Permanent dye is well, permanent. Unless you're experienced at doing it yourself, go to a salon where they can advise you on the color and type of dye that'll be best for your hair and your maintenance preferences.
